The College Football regular season is over, and with the end of the season comes the end of really damn cool uniforms. Uniforms are held in great value here at IMH, so I will be presenting my favorite uniforms of the 2019 season. This is going to be a 2 part blog, so keep your eyes out for another at a later date.
Army

The Army-Navy game is always a great source when it comes to fire uniforms and this year was no exception. For the past 2 years, Army has dedicated its uniforms to the 1st Infantry Division and the 10th Mountain Divison. This years' uniforms are dedicated to the 82nd Airborne Division, who is a member of the 1st Cavalry. On September 11th, 1965, the 82nd Airborne was the first full American division to arrive at the Vietnam War. The patch on the left soldier is the Combat Service Identification Badge of the 1st Cavalry. On the front of the jersey, it has a patch that says "First Team". This patch represents the fact that they were the first to arrive in South Vietnam. On the helmet is the Crossed Sabers of the 1st Cavalry's "Cavalry Stetson". The olive color was worn by the soldiers who fought in Vietnam. These uniforms could not be left out of my list. As a history and uniform nerd, these uniforms are some of my favorites.
Florida

The University of Florida wore their 1960's throwbacks during their showdown between SEC East rival Auburn Tigers. The Gators have some of my favorite uniform combos in college football. For me, the highlight of the uniform is the helmet. The simplicity of the logo jumps out to me right away. They should ditch the Gator logo and just use the "F". When I see these uniforms, it makes me think of the tradition that the University of Florida football program represents and plays for, and why these kids signed on to play in the swap. If they could make these uniforms their main homes, I would be at peace.
North Carolina

The Tar Heels brought the heat with these ones. The thing that stood out to me is (shocker) the helmets! The Tar Heels debuted a new helmet in the Tobacco Road Rivalry game against the Duke Blue Devils. Their normal helmet has the signature North Carolina logo, as seen on the pants and the shield on the jersey. These buckets have one of their alternate logos, which is literally the Tar Heel. These pretty uniforms highlight North Carolina's secondary color, the navy blue. The navy blue really makes the Carolina blue pop out. Overall, a fantastic uniform.
