GLORY GLORY, HALLELUJAH! THE PHILLIES HAVE THEIR MANAGER!

I would like to be the first to say that I had no clue that Joe Girardi was even considering signing with the Phillies. Seriously. I was convinced that he was going to become the manager of the Mets. Could you imagine if he was in charge of this team?

He made the right decision. No doubt. The Wilpons are allergic to giving people money to do a job and the Philadelphia Phillies are not. The Phillies are a team to watch out for this upcoming year. They have a manager who knows what he's doing!

Not only am I excited that the Phils have a real manager, but that Gabe Kapler is gone! I never liked him. When he was hired in 2017 and he said "We’re going to bring “that F’ing trophy back to John Middleton”, I knew he wasn't going to work out. They were fresh off a HOT 66-96 record placing 5th place in the National League East. He coached the Fightin' Phils to 2 very average seasons. Last season was so disappointing. Words cannot describe how upsetting this past year was.

But this year should be something special. The Phillies have the potential to be a great baseball team, as shown from March through the beginning of June. They now have the coaching. As a manager, Joe Girardi is 988-794 with a .554 winning percentage. Also, Girardi's managing record in the playoffs is 28-24 with a .534 winning percentage and the 2009 World Series championship against his new team.

The key to the Phillies' success is their pitching. They have the talent in guys like Aaron Nola, Jake Arrieta (even though he's old), Zack Eflin, and closer Hector Neris. The Phillies NEED to get new pitching coaches or maybe acquire more pitching this offseason.

Either way, hiring Joe Girardi was much needed. Having an experienced manager is HUGE. This year should be much better in comparison to the disappointment of 2019.
