First things first, BIG thanks to Jared English for putting me in contact with Will. Meeting a current Eagles player has been a dream of mine for a long time, no matter how much they play or what position they play. The fact that I was able to meet someone who is going to be HUGE in Jim Schwartz's scheme for this year was absolutely insane.
I wasn't able to screen record the interaction, but I was able to jot our interaction down, otherwise, this would be a video.
PD: What does putting on the Eagles uniform mean to you as a kid who grew up in Philly?
WP: It's a blessing, man. I haven't really felt anything yet, but when we get there (September), then I'll feel like it's a dream.
PD: Obviously, Safety Malcolm Jenkins left to sign with the Saints. Will you be filling his spot or be moved around the defense?
WP: I'll go anywhere the coaches put me. Strong safety, Nickle, Dime, anywhere.
PD: The secondary is looking strong for this season with the signing of Nickell Robey-Coleman and the acquisition of Darius Slay. How are you guys going to stack up against speed filled wide receiver cores like the Cowboys?
WP: We gotta build that chemistry, you know? That's the most important thing. We gotta have each other's backs no matter what 'cause we know Coach Schwartz is gonna have us in a great system. We don't gotta worry about play-calling and schemes.
PD: How excited are you to get after it with the guys this year and putting wide receivers on islands?
WP: I'm excited to play with the guys. We're going to have a ton of fun doing it, too.
PD: What made you want to come back home and play for the Eagles?
WP: The people. The fans, the organization, the people in the city. There's nothing like it. To come back home and play for my city is an honor and I'm grateful.
All in all, Will Parks was the most down to earth athlete I've ever met. I'm excited to see what he does this season, but hopefully, I get to see him at Eagles training camp this summer! Again, thank you to Jared and Will for being so kind to do this interview. This is something that I will absolutely never forget.
